Hello Emergency Fund

I remember the day my mentor told me that I had to put 1,000 into an emergency fund. I looked at them like what? I do not have 1,000, I said. They told my husband and I to put aside what we can every month until we got to 1,000. Then when a crisis/emergency happened we would be ready. Ready to not pull out the credit card and get into credit card debt, but use those funds we saved to cover the emergency. Can I tell you like clock work, we saved the 1,000 putting aside 100 a month. Then we had a car issue that hit us and had to use most of that. Then build up that emergency fund again. That was a hard pill to swallow, but we did it, until we were ready to move to the next step in our journey!
